Help ! Cube Stereo HPC 29er 140 2014 or Trek EX8 29er 2016

After riding my sons Cube Sting 29er i was blown away how much MTB have progressed from my GT I Drive 26in !, The cube was so smooth on the trails .
So im currently looking at spending £1200 max on a secondhand 29er .
Ive found 2 nice bikes , a Cube Stereo HPC pro140 2014 and a Trek ex8 2016 , both similar condition and suspension front and rear are excactly what i want .
I really cant make up my mind as both bikes are nice , sadly i cant get a test ride of both as there both miles away so ill have get a courier to deliver , so hopefully you guys can steer me in the right direction to make my mind up ?

I wouldn’t buy a 10 year old bike for more than £400.
I would have said buy the Trek, (I have one) but the rear shock DRCV was created especially for that bike. I bought a spare when they were available for less than £100 and there are alternatives but for how long ?

If you add a fork and shock service plus drive train onto your £1200 then you might as well buy a new bike.

Cool, keep an eye on pivot bolts coming loose. That’s the only complaint I’ve ever heard about Cubes. Enjoy !
