Through axles

If you were to need to replace some through axles, would it matter which brand you use? So, are all 12mm through axles created equal or is it more problematic than that?

    These are bike parts, so of course it's more problematic, standardisation is a dirty word. You need to get the correct length, thread pitch, thread length and shape of the head. You may be lucky and find that the spec is written on the axles, if not then the Robert Axle Project axle finder is pretty good: https://robertaxleproject.com/axle-finder-2/

    Brand doesn't particularly matter IMO. I wouldn't go super cheap for obvious reasons, beyond that there's the usual trade off between price, weight and functionality (ie do you just want to use a hex key or do you need a handle on the axle).
