Whyte have a good name in mtbs and they have maintained that rep in emtbs too. So, it is sure to be value for money.

The best thing I can recommend to you is to ask the same question on the emtb forum. It is free and quick to join.

I have never ridden a hardtail emtb, but I have read the reports from those that have. You can make up your own mind from those reports, but the message I get is that emtb and hardtails are not best suited to each other. The bike is considerably heavier and you really feel it on a rough trail. Many HT emtb buyers soon sell and buy a FS emtb.

As with manual mtbs, FS emtbs are more expensive than HT emtbs. For most people, cost is a significant factor and for mtbs the usual advice was that you got a better HT for the money than an equivalent priced FS. For emtbs I would say that my advice would be to get an FS emtb, but go for a used one rather than a new HT for the same money. Be patient, and within a few months there will be lots for sale as the 2022 bikes enter the market. Check with the emtb forum to see what new things you need to look for when purchasing a used model. There are some bargains out there.
