Hello everyone,
I rebuild my Cannondale Bad Boy with dropbars, SORA levers, SORA FD, SORA RD and Alivio crankset and DeoreXT bottom bracket. Because SORA FD has chainline of 45 mm, and Alivio has 50 mm, FD can't reach the outermost cog (my set up is 3 x 9). I plan to make 5 mm extender for the FD and move whole FD 5 mm outward. I am interested in your opinions on this solution.
Thanks!

Can't help you with your plan but am interested in just how many of 27 gears actually get used?
I have a 3x8 on one of my bikes and I feel sure many of them never get used.
Been out this morning for instance and to be honest I think the whole ride was done in the front middle (42) and perhaps 3 of the 8 on the back.0 -
Did you have a 3x9 speed setup previously? If yes, then you should be able to use your previous front derailleur.0

Yes, I had 3x9, but my FD was Altus, which is MTB and can't be used with SORA levers.PMark said:Did you have a 3x9 speed setup previously? If yes, then you should be able to use your previous front derailleur.
