If you have an electronic group set, what do you do ( regarding battery charging ) when the bike isn’t being used much, during the grotty winter months ( for example )? Run it down, and keep it low, or charge it up, and keep it up as it inevitably loses charge over time, whilst stored.

Same as any other Li-ion battery. Keep it around 40-50% and store it indoors rather than out in a freezing cold shed/garage. They don't like being fully charged or fully discharged, either will degrade the life of the battery.
