Hi all,
I'm looking forward to an upcoming Northumberland staycation and will likely take my bike, staying around the Morpeth area.
Can someone provide some circular route ideas around 50/60 mile distance which are fairly leisurely and safe. I don't mind light to moderate climbing.

Hi,
I don't live in Morpeth but I'm very familiar with Northumberland and it's roads. I've created a couple of routes for you which are all out and back and go to places where there's a café spot.
Morpeth to Corbridge.

Morpeth to Bellingham (checkout the Fountain Tea Room café)

Morpeth to Rothbury (bit of a hillier route but worth it for some great views of the Cheviots at the top of Bilsmoor)

Here's another decent one. Bit longer but a great ride up the NE coastline to Alnwick via Warkworth and Alnmouth. Worth stopping at the Drift Café in Cresswell for a coffee etc. early on in the ride. Big climb out of Alnwick and then over to Rothbury with a big descent past Cragside which is a National Trust site. Then it's pretty rolling after that.

Cheers for that. Appreciated.
I’ll study in more detail in the light of day. 👍
