    Not sure why Bike exchange did so much work on the front of the bunch today as Mathews was unlikely to do well. I suppose they have to have some hope.

    Jack Haig hung on to the barrier for dear life just after the finish line, looked as if he had given his all and could not go any further, he completely blocked Yates who was just behind him. Showed how brutal that climb was.

    And I see that Ineos and UAE are ahead of Movistar in the team competition- Valverde is clearly a big miss, the young ones have no respect for tradition!
