Yeah he was chatting utter rubbish there. Totally ignored Matthews going.

Ineos needed to take that up very slightly earlier to have guaranteed Roglic the win.

Magnus Cort holds on. Roglic second.

I got the distinct impression Roglic eased off, just a touch.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Can't decide who was the bigger shambles there, the TV producers or Ineos. Superb effort by Cort, Roglic possibly learning from previous criticism not to take him on the line.

Ineos forced a split with three of their riders at the bottom of the slop but by the top had been passed and dropped by a load of others.

It pains me to do so but credit to Carlton for even trying to make sense of the finish from the images available, terrible coverage.

TV coverage of the climb was a complete joke.

Great to see MC Neilsen hold on.
Shame for the GC it was Roglic just behind.

He called Matthews but then wasn't quite certain as the coverage was shite.

Movistar 5th, 8th and 9th. Solid performance for the team competition.

Get in! Great ride from Cort, who did the lion's share of the work in the break.
He probably owes some thanks to Gino Mader's loss to Roglic earlier this season though 😉

And was busy saying that Movistar had blown out the back when they get 3 in the top 10!

The footage was crap but my point about CK remains. He could just pause and think a sec before just blathering out whatever he sees...

I could see it and I was watching on my phone...

It was more that the rider in black and white attacked (who I knew was Matthews and he should have too), and CK just kept talking for a while like nothing was happening.

Roglic: Magnus was just stronger, he had good legs, but it wasn't so much about the win today

Ineos had Carapaz as second wheel at the bottom of the hill, and he just didn't have it. When Narvaez accelerated, he left him for dead, with Bernal on his wheel stuck there like a lemon.

Having looked at the finish again, Roglic could have tried to come around Cort, but it wasn't going to be a clear win for him anyway. There was a lot of foreshortening on the camera angle and he'd have had to take the outside. Not worth the effort at 50-50ish, especially with the slagging he'd have taken

Just watched on the catch up. Damn and blast, I thought of Magnus CN for the breakaway ptp pick but then didn't. Good ride that man.

And good to hear and then see Adam Blythe back on the commentary.

If ever there was a sign, that was it...

Narvaez should have just gone and let the others close, bringing in Egan with them.

Carthy ended up losing 2:50, even after making it back to the peloton.
