Can anyone offer advice on this...
Hi all. A bit of a shot in the dark.
Added a Boardman Urb 8.9 to the stable. It has a Gates 115t belt and Shimano nexus 8 speed hub.
I have done about 100 miles and it has gone from being the quietest bike ever to the noisiest!
Here is the noise.

I haven't took it back to Halfrauds yet but I have spoke to them to be told we haven't got anyone with experience of hub gears...WTF 😳
Any advice would be appreciated

If you get too involved it may invalidate the warranty. There may be something simple you can do like adjusting cable tension. But read up how first.

Halfords will look it on Tuesday now even though their bike tech has now experience of them. A bit poor really..
It’s an eccentric bottom bracket so make sure the two bolts under the bottom bracket holding the eccentric housing are tight.

Do I need special tools for this ?
I'm relieved.

If your fingers don’t work just pop a flat head screw driver into to one of the two round recesses on the housing and rotate.
I couldn’t find anything online as to a guide for belt tension so it looks like trial and error.
Good luck

Halfrauds have agreed to look at it tomorrow so I won't have a mess with it today and let's see if they have a least got the correct equipment to accurately measure belt tension
But no,.not looking to be edge or down with anyone really
gotcha.
crack on.
As for the retailer, experience are far far less satisfying so I will retain the right to call them how I see fit even if it offends you
But feel to crack on yourself

The cranks on the bike which arrived in to the shop for us wouldn't turn, well they would for me but a small child wouldn't be able to ride it.
I was offered a 10% discount if I accepted it based on the assistants assurance that "they would loosen up".
I am not sure. You have no chance.
They confirmed they had no tools to measure the belt tension or even a c spanner to adjust the eccentric bottom bracket. I am not really filled with confidence 😳
I don't blame the staff, it sounds like they are not given the training and support to do their job
Usually for a belt the spec will show a measured deflection at the midpoint with a certain weight on it but if all else fails resort to the twisting the belt 90 degrees method mentioned earlier in thread.
Reassuring thay they havent got a clue what theyre doing
Yes I did this..thanks. I made sure the yellow dots liked up in gear 4. Only needed very slight adjustment on the barrel connector.
Thanks for the advice through!
