The roof bar fixings are designed for cars with the old fashioned gutters. For modern cars you would attach the bars to roof fixings appropriate to your car. The fixings currently attached are San Remo branded. They hold the front fork with a quick release. The rear wheel is held in a gutter with a strap. The front wheel is held in a separate carrier. There is some minor rust on the quick release.
The Thule 1050 system can be fitted to the same roof bars. They hold two bikes upside down by the handlebars and saddle. One of the handlebars mounts is missing the two small plastic protectors. I used old inner tubes to protect the handlebars, The saddle mounts have one strap each so need an extra strap.
