Proposal - Olympics Road Race watch..erm...party
Because not even we are prepared to get up at 2am for it...
Should we set a start time, ideally with regular distance to go updates for everyone to join in so we can watch it at a normal hour?
Bit too keen?

We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

You can ignore the bit until a normal wake up time when it will just be some forlorn hope moves from minor nations.0

9am or so?
I'm halfway through a nice amarone so I might be up to watch the last hour. But not getting up at 6...0 -
9.30 they said on BBC earlier.0

The Welsh news just described Geraint Thomas as Wales first medal hope of the Games0

Meeting a mate for a ride at 9.30 so 9.21 finish would be about perfect...0

The BBC's coverage is TERRIBLE. They keep changing channels and now at the most exciting part of the race (according to them), they pop off to interview Cav.
As to Eurosport, they keep popping off to adverts!
I suppose we are spoilt by the normal coverage we get of "normal" races as it is done by professionals for interested viewers rather than the public at large.

Was there any ad free coverage on Eurosport app?
Tried to go between BBC ridiculous interview at a predictably vital point of the race and the ads on Eurosport.0 -
There was on GCN+, couldn't see it on the ES app.bm5 said:Was there any ad free coverage on Eurosport app?

Frustratingly I could view it on replay\rewind when viewing on my laptop or phone, but as soon as I cast it to my TV it defaulted to the live view, and I could not get back.
Luckily it did did not spil it for me, as I only saw Pogacar on a podium but didn't see where he had finished, so ended up having to watch it on my laptop.
Oh and then smithy and stephens at 5km to go were swapped out randomly for rochelle gilmour and an aussie carlton kirby.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Good circuit - I like the super hard climb some way from the finish and then the rolling terrain after. No radios - hard to say it made it a better race but certainly didn't make it worse.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]1

Yes, at least on replay. On the schedule, just watched, there is an ad free / commentator free stream alongside the ES1 version. No wittering. Only downside takes me a bit of working out to get which rider is which in national rather than normal team colours.bm5 said:Was there any ad free coverage on Eurosport app?

Thanks. I had the change to live from delayed when casting as well.0

Me too, tried casting to different devices, still samebm5 said:Thanks. I had the change to live from delayed when casting as well.
Managed to avoid the result and watch highlights, except it went from 99km to go and jumped to 15km to go with 2 up the road, no explanation even how.0 -
The not being able to cast from where you were watching was pretty crap, that was poor I thought.
Nearly ruined it for me, and others clearly.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
