The Tour last year ranked much higher:bobmcstuff said:
I'll have a look at the ratings thread for last year if I can dig them out.Pross said:There seems to be a fairly unusual agreement on the race this year.
At the moment the distribution looks similar to the Giro just with a lower average (mean 5.7, median 6, compared to mean 6.5, median 7 for the Giro - surprised the Giro is only one point better really).
Tour 2020: Mean 7.5, Median 8
Giro 2021: Mean 6.5, Median 7
Tour 2021: Mean 5.7, median 6
Trend feels right, I just think the differences were a bit bigger than single points...
The distribution curve for 2020 is a bit wider and flatter (range from 10 to 2, with votes a bit more evenly spread), so it's probably true that the agreement is closer this year. I can't be bothered to do any stats on that though...0 -
What's the worst GT you ever watched and what score ?"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

Not sure I could give a fair/accurate answer without going back and checking. I've only been watching since some time after 2012 but there's some I can't remember at all so probably one of those...mididoctors said:What's the worst GT you ever watched and what score ?

I was feeling that too but at least you remembered it as the tour won by the guy who wasn't arrested . In a way the Landis tour was worseNo_Ta_Doctor said:"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. This is interesting as the OG Wine Glass Rater, Daniel Friebe, gave it a glowing review on this week's pod. I believe he even said 4 (four!) wine glasses!Pross said:There seems to be a fairly unusual agreement on the race this year.
What did the godfather, iainf give it?We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Probably a somewhat different experience when you're in Friebe's position to ours.0

Which is pretty close to forum consensus as well.0 -
Yes, some of the Vueltas years ago. Decades even. Despite there always being mountain stages, it often seemed to me that the Vuelta did nothing but constantly cross endless mildly-rolling countryside full of cereals, with not a soul around. Rominger bored me to tears.mididoctors said:Toss up thou .... Some vueltas are utterly forgettable
I also thought half the Indurain and Armstrong Tour years pretty poor (half rounded up), and I'm sure a Froome one too.

Must have been giddy with excitement to be off the telly and back on the podcast...bobmcstuff said:

I take it you were too young for the Indurain years?rick_chasey said:

Indirain's wins occurred between the ages of 3 and 7 for me, I don't remember them 🙃Pross said:

A five from me, and a race saved by the first week plus Cav's resurgence.
I found the last week staggeringly dull and could hardly be arsed to watch it.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
5 from the MFs - nice to see MvdP have a laugh and wear yellow, JA did some nice rides, a couple of cool first time stage winners.
Care not a fig for Cavendish so no Brucey Bonus points there.
Lost a point with Roglic going out so early and taking part of the anticipated battle between him and Pog away but that point was replaced by Rick's man doing so well..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.
