Morning all. Steady last day off, OH taxi service and mutt to vet for routine checkup and jabs. Followed by more bedroom furniture building. More el scorchio out, Sungod is back on form me thinks.
Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

Work work day, but only a 1/2 one, finish before it gets tooo hot. Hydration, hydration, hydration.

    Ciao

    Stinking hot which is nice.

Dad's taxi for boy to his sports club for the week, bambina to guitar, deal with decorators, meet TDV for coffee, shopping, have a ponder about some work stuff, try and find time to go to the gym but tbh I think its going to be far too stinking hot to be in a room lifting weights.

Back on the hamster wheel of doom.
Bit hot for this early in the morning but not cooking too badly at the moment.
Undecided for later, but may just have a rest for a change

Another Hamster wheel occupant here although quite quiet so far this morning. Email sent to estate agent saying we will need access to the house for specialists to do their stuff, let's see what happens. Better have some brekky.

Wfh. It hot. 5 more days of work, then hols. Though it looks like the weather breaks in Cornwall the day we arrive. 🙄

WFW, last two days before a week on a Greek island.
It really does seem the longest I've been without getting on a plane, 11 months!

..let’s hope the vuelta is as good has the tour

    What, an actual race?

Best GT - The Giro, followed by La Vuelta and then the Tour.
It's too big, too over-hyped and there is too much emphasis placed on it so we there is too much pressure on teams to deliver and you get crashes aplenty making it a lottery.

Agreed, and I don't even eat meat!

Will hydrate well. I'm busy shuffling around things on the bike as I usually carry only one bidon, and a tool bottle in the other cage with everything but the kitchen sink.

I'd like to have empty pockets - except phone and snacks - for the duration, so I might use a handlebar bag.

Afternoon. Been to the shops, now sitting having a read while waiting for lunchtime. Off to the headmaster’s retirement bash this evening. Nice.

Dirk's new handlebar tape arrived today.

absolutely nothing wrong with it but tbh, a blimmin' random way of packing and send handlebar tape....

I assume they took the tape out of the box and flattened the box so it would go in a smaller package, and therefore cheaper (for them to post).

Makes a change from the times when a small box arrives inside a massive box, filled with that popcorn stuff, or scrunched up brown paper.

i assuming ypur assumption is totally correct and, tbh, i have no problem with what they did at all - looks like a blimmin' good idea to me.

i once had a brand new of Easton EC90 'bars at a stupid price arrive in a plastic courier bag.

    no box
    no padding
    just in a plastic bag

perfect condition, still using them 15 years on.

And here's me thinking a giro was what Scousers picked up every couple of weeks from the dole office.

    Evening folks,
Busy day of wfw with a sweaty wobble each way. I'm not sure if I was wetter after last week's downpour or today. Had to deal with momentous amounts of stupid as usual, unfortunately it seems to be contagious and I've got it. Did the reply all thing on an email when I shouldn't have. The recipient of my ire wasn't happy. I fronted it out and asked if I was wrong. Obviously I wasn't so he backed off 😂
That's a decent ride Ben, long time since I managed anything that long, should try a few longer rides soon.

Managed a nervy* pedal in this 'ere Northumberlanshire county. Christ it's brutally hilly.
I went up and up and up and then down and then up and then down and then up and up and then down and down and down. Not an inch of flat.

*Forrin roads; steep, rough and unfamiliar. Rougher than the local roads I know in Jockland. Which is surprising. Although, I know every square inch of them and every pothole.

You need to sort out your paving slabs.

Not my slabs mate, I'm renting this palace. The hard landscaping is some of the worst I've ever seen. Not my problem, unless I trip over it....
