Weather app suggests summer returns/starts on Friday, at least down here. Just in time for St Swithin's day.

    Wfh dullness.

    Ciao

On kiddie duty. Is it horrible to say I'm bored already?

Meant to be popping to the garage as new car is getting delivered pre PDI and rego to check it out.

Apart from that, I'll do some weights. Can't Zwift as sodding wi-fi is down again in the turbo room.

    Morning

WFW today because I might need to spend 5 minutes checking on something.

Warm and humid here today, it's horrible. Wind is forecast to pick up later so hopefully that will clear it up.

Bag's all packed for a trip out this evening after work but I think I've left something important at home. Can't decide whether to try and make do without, or whether to go home then go out again.

Thistle - won’t you be able to buy gaffer tape and zip ties in town? Remember to pay cash and purchase them in separate shops.

WFH, catering division is WFW which will impact my food intake (decrease in quality and quantity increase in junk status)

    Later is hill repeats

I think there's plenty of shops here that could sell me something more bespoke if needed, especially down towards the train station.

    Morning folks,
wfh today which made for a more relaxed start to the day. Off to the hospital for a blood test at lunchtime, I didn't used to mind but have been stabbed by the vampires so many times now I get nervous. Thankfully my blood vessels are back to normal so they should be able to find some claret to take. Other than that no excitement today. Going up to big town for drinks tomorrow, I'll be like a tourist up there in the big smoke.
Go and keep the OH warm Step, we won't tell your new bosses.
    Onwards and upwards...

But but you don't like bullets and bombs - they cause problems.

Good day at Drumlanrig Castle . Much fun was had. Having a 10 year old and an 8 year old presents endless opportunities to go and have fun on adventure playgrounds and be silly.
Gardens were lovely. Nice Victorian greenhouse and many large trees, a lot of pine/spruce. Normally chopped down at 35 years but these were now as wide as... as an Aygo at the bottom.
Noticeable, was the large quantities of flowers and a shortage of bees.
Talked to one of the groundsmen and suggested Bee hives and he said that it had oft been mentioned at meetings but there was no one with the skills.

get beehives, even if they scoff all the honey, there will be bees

mf, tell mf there are no good wars anymore, a good revolution is still possible, though unlikely, keep bees instead

When I was doing my MBA met a chap who said his favourite day was when someone told him they were getting bees, because he knew in a few months he would be able to buy them at a discount

Well, I've spent my day dealing with advice on a German divestment that I already knew the answers to, and where the German advisor got the jurisdiction of the lender wrong, so had to be told by me, a drunken old British cnut, which part of the German tax code they should be using to make the recapitalisation tax neutral. Had communication from Netherlands tentacles that Netherlands authorities are cracking down hard on legacy treaty shopping, even though they're not losing any tax revenue, but reporting to the jurisdictions who are, then dealing with preservation of Spanish tax losses on a merger and how another Spanish advisor are utterly ripping off Tokyo business department, then, joy of joys, my superstar minion has lost all respect for his line manager, which I also did about 6 months ago, so I have difficult conversations ahead with HR. Their roles and salaries should be reversed, but I'm not sure that works easily.

1st world problems, I know. I've checked my privilege, realised that it's my white collar job, for which I'm well paid, and well qualified, I'm not being shot at, or starving, but still a ballache nonetheless.

I'm not even drinking, so will have the joy of contemplation in the small hours. Maybe I'll listen to Rumours.

Early dart didn't equate to more time outside due to several faffs and cockups by me, but turned out nice in the end:

Amazed how wet/damp everything was by 9pm due to the humidity and the temperature dropping a touch.
