Run session this morning so later can be football, though doubt it will be as good as last nights games

What is your step target? Is that running days or non running?

Shall we start a hairy arm competition?

Sounds like that's not far from that Love Island place. They should join up I think.

as pinno says, post-hols day 2 test

to be followed by test to release test, day 8 test, and then pre-flight test for next hols (assuming uk doesn't get banned due to the johnson variant)
Coolio. What’s the price of the tests? Looks like I’ll be abroad in August.
for the greater glory of bb, my guide to travel/testing...

price varies a lot with type/speed, perhaps also reliability of service

for pre-travel, day2/8, ttr, i use https://biogroup-laboratory.co.uk/ as they've got clinics in good locations for me, decent reputation and can offer same-day results on pre-travel/ttr

day 2/8 and ttr can be in-person or mail-in - travel to/from clinic for in-person testing is permitted when in home quarantine

ttr i'd only use same-day in-person, otherwise you potentially lose a lot of time before release which defeats the object

    pre-travel...

if your destination has a 48 hour pre-arrival test window it's risky to use anything other than in-person same-day - aside from post/courier delay there's a chance they may need to reprocess

you may also need to fill in a locator form/similar before travel

check destination rules for test type and time window carefully ***

    for return to uk...

i use https://qured.com/covid-rapid-tests/ order it a week before travel, they send you a test kit to take away with you, then you book an appointment for <72 hours before uk arrival time

you have a video call to do the test and then send a pic for confirmation - for mine the total elapsed time was < 40 minutes from start to getting the result back - this saves the hassle/lost time of finding a test provider wherever you are on hols

both the above providers are uk gov approved

uk requires you fill in a locator form before return

in all cases, download pdf copies of locator forms, test results etc. to more than one device and be ready to present them at check-in, border etc. (some countries require paper copies, check)

do not rely on accessing a remote copy - at the weekend i saw three unfortunates reach check-in without being able to show their locator forms, they were shunted to the side and last i saw were frantically redoing them on online, think they all made it but they looked pretty stressed, no form == no flight

*** for pre-travel tests you need to check the destination country rules carefully, don't rely on 2nd-hand published info as it can be wrong

at check-in airlines use timatic to see the rules, you can access it here... https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/world.php
...it tends to be quite densely written so you need to read carefully, timatic won't update with new rules until they are in effect, the best source is still the destination country government sites

some carriers have discounts on tests, ba for instance...

Father in law. Absolute legend of a man. GP for the district, past retirement age but opted to stay on to treat his patients during the pandemic. That and he doesn’t want to be home all day with his crazy wife 😂

Anyway, that’s only two of the three

Nearly dropped my lunch on the floor, heart in mouth moment, don’t know how I rescued it. It felt like it was past the point of no return but managed to pull it back from the brink.

    Anyway, carry on.

Nah, stick it on. I’d give you my heat if I could. Gas meter broken since October, doesn’t cost me anything.
