If your Brand-X dropper is tough to press - check this!

Hi all,
Just done a big maintenance session on my bike.
Since I had it the dropper has always been a bit hard to press the lever. I noticed that there was a hole in the lever which the cable passes through and inside there is a metal cam shaped thing which rotates when you pull the lever.
It dawned on me that there is supposed to be a barrel nipple in that hole, so that when the lever is pressed it drags the cam round and onto the cable, helping leverage. Mine was missing (never fitted by the bike shop I assume), so the cam shaped bit of metal was hardly moving when the lever was pressed.
So I ordered a 5mm solderless barrel nipple and refitted the cable. Had to pull all the cable out to insert it back through the nipple. But leverage is massively improved now.
5mm however is slightly too small for the hole, although its working for now it may end up wearing the cam as its a little loose, so Ive now found some 6mm dia x 8mm length nipples on ebay which are due next week. They should fit more snuggly in the hole.
Worth checking if you've felt that your dropper has always been tough to press, that you have the nipple in the hole!
