bike tube valve gone wonky

hello,
I've noticed that the top of my bike valve has gone wonky. it's the inside long thin bit that is wonky. I dont know think it is normal, but is there a way to make it straight again? Or should I replace the whole inner tube? That would be annoying as I had the tube filled with green gunk at Halfords so it would be wasted.

Get a pair of pliers and gently bend it straight again.

Does it leak? If not, leave it.

Hi, it doesn't leak. I guess I should leave it then. Don't want to snap it off, I'd be off the road with another expense. I guess I need to be careful when I pump it up.

Off the road with another expense? Inner tubes only cost a few quid.

Leave the valve alone. If you bend it back will probably be okay, but might snap.

I thought that too but relies on the punctured tube to have a removable core some slime ones do, but a lot don’t.

If you're talking about a presta valve, simply unscrew the "guts" and install new. If you're talking shrader valve do the same thing.

They use pretty low grade brass. You never had the experience of repairing a flat by the road side, pimping it up and then having the threaded bit snap through fatigue and spit the rest of the valve member out shortly thereafter? Usually happens when it's dark and cold and you have already lost all manual dexterity.

Did you paint it in snazzy colours?
