Boardman C7 Team - rear rack / weight?

Any advice welcome please. I have a white Boardman C7 Team bike which I really like and would like to put a rack on it, if possible, the aim of which is to then carry my ortlieb panniers, and then possibly, to carry enough for a weekend bike / camp. There are no fixing holes on the seat stay.

1. Firstly, is it possible or am I dreaming? Suggested racks welcome, please :-)
2. I know this bike isn't designed for touring, but what weight on the back do you think is reasonable?
3. I have looked at saddlebags, rucksack for bikes, handlebars and they will be added as well but at the mo, just considering racks.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Hiya - is it this one: https://cyclingweekly.com/reviews/road-bikes/boardman-team-carbon

You can buy a replacement seat clamp that would have mounting points for the top arms of a rack - I've used it with great success.

If it has no mounting points/threaded holes on the rear stays, then you would need to look at a rack specifically for mounting utilising the QR.
There was a thread in recent months about this subject, I'll see if I can find it.

As to what weight can you carry - good question. I used to commute on my now deceased Marin Highway One that had a rear carbon triangle, never weighed what went on it, but can't have been that much, just say to day stuff, but it had no issues with what I asked of it.

If you had front rack mounting options you could spread the weight, but I'm assuming you do not.

    Hi daniel_b

Many thanks for your detailed reply. Sorry it's been a while but I was off camping for 2 weeks :-).

Yes, that's the bike. Although I have a touring bike, mountain bike etc, I seem to find myself using this nearly all the time these days. Maybe an age thing, maybe the weight? So I thought I'd see if I can turn it into a bit of a touring bike. It does have rear screw points so should be able to fit a rack fairly easily I think. I'll get the replacement clamp as suggested then a rack, or see if I can make one of my existing ones fit :-).

    Thanks for the help.

if you have the money - Tailfin. but when you get into the options it can be spendy. Rack, pannier adaptors, maybe the seat pack but a v.attractive, well thought piece of kit (I dont have one btw)
