Trek Roscoe 7 vs Canyon Stoic 3

Trek
Canyon
I am keen to get a MTB after almost 10 years away. I used to ride a full sus Canyon when the wheels were smaller! A decent full sus is out of my price range for now, also I'll be using this bike for some city riding too.
Any trail riding I would be able to do would most likely be at peaslake a few times a year. Otherwise some basic family bike rides
Having been out for so long, I am trying to get to grips with how forks have changed. I last swapped some basic fox floats for RS revelations and I loved them. The difference of forks on the two bikes is:
Trek: RockShox Judy SL, Solo Air spring, TurnKey lockout, tapered steerer, Boost110, 15 mm Maxle Stealth, 120 mm travel
Canyon: RockShox Recon Silver RL 29
I believe the Recon is the superior fork - could anyone provide info on any real world differences between the two?
Trek pros over the Canyon is £100 cheaper and available now. Although I guess I was most keen on trying a 29er too.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I had a Trek X-Caliber 8 same spec as a Roscoe 7, was a good bike apart from a little cable rattle from the internal tubes. If I was you I'd go Caynon, the geo is much better 65 degree head angle from memory. Between the folks there's next to nothing in it between a Judy and Recon in Silver - plenty of comparison sites on Google for Rockshox folks, so don't let this be a deciding factor.1
