Tiagra issue. New crank set required for Merida?
Hello :-).
I have a 2017/18 Merida ride 300. I want to replace the Tiagra pedal arms as the new chainring is a small fortune...Can anyone tell me what cranks would be compatible with the existing bottom bracket? Or would I have to change the bottom bracket as well. I just want a deore quality or even lesser brand to throw on.
The existing bb is rs500. The hollow style bb spindle is permanently attached to the drive side I think...Really want to spend as little as possible and not replace bb...what would slide into the the bb bearings?

Sorry - you want to replace the cranks because of a worn chain?
compatible chain (KMC, etc) is about £15.
or am i missing something?.The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

Its 135.00 for the 50 tooth Ultegra...and 45 for a 50t tiagra0

It depends which ring is worn. If its the 50t then the above 6800 ring won't fit and costs £135.0

or just any crankset with a (I think offhand) 24mm spindle diameter to fit standard shimano b/b width..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

Ooopps Matt apologies...my alternative option over buying a new chainset...was looking on Ebay regularly for very good condition second hand 50t ch ring...Most second hand were selling for off the chart money...Someone listed a great one at buy it now for 20.00...so an easy decision to make.
