Bike geometry question
So I have been getting numb fingers the last 2.
Also fatigue on trapezius area.
My stupid ass did not check geometry measurements and went size frame instead.
Anyway, I am try to replicate geometry as close as possible to my endurance bike for reach and stack.
Will it address my issues?
Today I added 3x5mm spacers, went for 10 minute ride seems to feel better a little bit better(not sure yet though) Feel like some weight has been taken off the front.
I know I need take weight away from the front more.
So I am considering purchasing a stem 80mm, as right now I have 100mm.
This would give a similar reach to my endurance bike which I can ride comfortably all day.
Will this be the final piece or can I adjust something else maybe seat forward?
Kind of want to avoid buying the stem, but if its the only way then I will buy it.

Sounds like you need a 'bike-fit'Blade180 said:Hi
So I have been getting numb fingers the last 2. What does the dot represent rides, weeks?

My stupid censored did not check geometry measurements and went size frame instead. Frame size is shorthand for overall sizes, you fail to mention the make/model/year/size of the bike you are unhappy with
Anyway, I am try to replicate geometry as close as possible to my endurance bike for reach and stack. You don't say what make/model/year/size this is either
Will it address my issues? Impossible to say without all the relevant information on your bikes and you, Sorry!

or at the very least some good advice from your LBS
ride your endurance bike until then

Don't move your saddle if it is correctly positioned in relation to your pedals. Always thought you set saddle first and then bars accordingly.
I had painful neck/shoulders so swapped a 110mm stem for a 90 and now the bike is as comfy as the armchair I'm sat in now.0 -
If you can get someone to take a photo side on and again front on while you sit on the bike it might be helpful.

Are both handlebars the same?0

What are the two bikes and bike sizes?0

Okay, first of all. I went for 40 mile test ride.
Pretty much same last time the last 2 fingers on left hand numb, right hand never goes numb.
1. I will try to get a photo tomorrow.
2. Handle bar are not the same - Don't know exact size on my comfy bike but you can clearly visually tell its wider and my new bike also has 12 degree flare. Included links to bike below.
3. both bikes are 61m according size guide they both should fit me but obviously the new bike needs adjustments as geometry wise.
Here are the 2 bikes anyway you can see specs and geometry:
My comfy bike: https://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/product/11573/2018-allez/
New bike: https://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/product/17409/2021-diverge-comp-e5/
Both size 61cm.
Another thought I had is what if its the saddle? Because it is smaller a little on the new bike so that could be the reason for more weight on front?
Although I still feel comfy on both.
Anyway looks like I will need to reduce stem size currently 100mm.
I was thinking to go to 80mm, or go lower?
And of course I have now added 15mm worth of spacers so do I need to make any adjustments elsewhere?
This is my bikepacking bike so will be doing long trips, 2 weeks until my longer trip.
So got time to fix this and not feel miserable!0 -
Compare the geometry of both from the charts.
Are they both the same colour?
Let some air out of the tyres.1 -
Moving your saddle rearwards will alleviate the load/pressure on your arms and hands, might be wroth a try but of course I have no idea how your bike is already setup.WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels
