Identifying road bike free hub (Decathlon)
I have a Triban 500SE 8-speed road bike from decathlon and I need to replace the freehub.
After some hassle, I've successfully removed the freehub with a 11mm Hex key. After which, I can't seem to disassemble the freehub any further (see picture below).
On Decathlon's website they have a freehub selling for £7.99 that looks kind of similar but without that male thread (see picture, above). I wonder if anyone know if these are the same freehub? If they are the same, now can I remove the male thread (in the red rectangle). If they are different models would someone mind to help me identify a budget replacement?

is that male bit meant to have come out of the wheel?.
The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

The male bit is free to spin but I can't get it off. I had a look at it and it seems to be something like what I've drawn below. The red, blue, and black bit are each free to rotate but I can't separate them with any amount of rotation.

Thanks for pointing me to a freehub that looks right. However, in Decathlon a new rear wheel including the freehub is only £34 (they're just out of stock for now) so I'm looking for something around £10. The SRAM freehub looks similar and is cheaper (€14) but I can't find the specs. Do you think they will fit? They never seem to have the measurements on the website.jimbohorizontal said:0 -
I'd be amazed if it didn't.
Is the €14 +postage? You'll probably be looking at around £25 to get it delivered if so.0 -
Yeah, £22 including shipping. I was just trying to revive an old wheel for my turbo trainer. Last time my freehub broke I simply bought a new wheel+freehub for £34 but now they're constantly out of stock probably due to covid.0
