Is Bernal going for the stage?!

No, just staying safe through that narrow section.

Far too far back when it mattered.

Ganna was pulling hard even after the 3km ... Expected a split in the bunch through the bendy bits maybe ?

Marengo is in the break and less than an hour down the autostrada, is where the Battle of Marengo (That bloke Napoleon again) took place, near the city of Alessandria. (can be seen on the stage map.)

If only Carlton had been commentating, we'd have had something about will Marengo win this battle or will he meet his Waterloo.

Pan flat stage of the first GT of the year the day after a full-effort time trial. What do people expect?

The trouble is, that as funny as this is, it's absolutely guaranteed to be true.

A bit worrying that both Dan Lloyd and Brian Smith are adopting some of his isms.
Today we had several "buying the right to fights" from BS.

That's what I thought but he eased up after the bendy bits.
A combination of fearing a split and/or an ouch moment?
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I think it might be a bit of inside Micky taking (or at least I hope so).

I haven't seen a replay, only live when it happened, but how come Gaviria didn't manage to rip open his forearm, unintentionally running it all along the barrier like that?

I heard someone during the stage say that Ewan never tries for the first sprint stage in any GT.

I also read earlier today, that Nizzolo said the following before the stage, "Today is for me a less good stage than tomorrow.“

If true about Ewan, I wish I had known beforehand. And also that I'd not believed Nizzolo.
I mean both before today's PTP deadline.

Someone to post who the winner was!

Will Viviani ever win another stage or has the curse of moving to Cofidis set in.

How about actually going for a ride and getting back and watching the last 10 minutes...that's what I did.

Proof, once again that Rick rarely reads my posts unless they contain the abbreviation WVA, or the many "E"s of Dylan Groenewegen.

Tim Merlier pulling on the front instead of sprinting?
    Sounds plausible.

Yeah first I'd heard of him. I'm not as up on cycling as I was pre-child.
