@sungod for some reason your name and the bigbean’s name are very pale looking.

Are you ok? Under the weather today?

it's the forum having a breakdown, imo it's doing that for profiles set to not show current online status
Well I must say you’re not hiding terribly well.

F@ck off cargo, you’re not wanted here!

I hope that’s cleared things up for you 👍😂

Maybe you could just sneak back without anyone noticing or making a fuss about it.

Did I blink an miss a flounce?

Swam this morning followed by a site meeting, short run after work me thinks plus maybe a stint of diy. Who knows...

Oh yeh, I walked over Helvellyn & striding edge on Sunday and knees still hate me from the walk back down

    Day of.... cr@p really.

My physio has almost conceded defeat, looked at my last MRI and reckons I should just try the two injections recommended to see if they work, because nothing else left in her bag of tricks. Means I am left with a f^cked neck and arm and limited options. Woohoo.

Other half had his review with specialist, which was neutral. Been sent for PET scan, and advised that the expectation is it will be "clear" but just checking. Hmm.

To top off a sh!tty day, mother calls, basically to whinge that I've not been to see her in 4 days and she has an earache. She can be a right miserable old cow some days. Thanks Mum.

At least dinner was good, green curry chicken, and a very nice Pinot Gris to go with it.

    Morning,

Summoning the will power to walk the dog is this spring weather.

Beyond that, WFH and trying to sort a new car, oh and buying some carpets. (Never new how expensive carpets were until the wife showed me the bill).

What car you getting, we can help 😂
maybe an A5 sportback, need to load a dog in or throw two bikes in the back, don't really fancy another hatch after a 1 series, A3 and GTI over the years. Could lean towards the SUV but more car than I really need.

Fun topic until it is you buying the car
Tow bar and Thule rack is the best way to transport bikes imho.

So, check it can fit a tow bar, then look at power 😎

Have you tried getting a second opinion?
Sounds like she's trying to help as much as possible but maybe someone else has some other tricks to try?

You could try asking how much mechatronic arms cost and if she can refer you to someone for it, see how that goes down.

Thistle, nice place to run kinder. I did from the campsite and kinder round circuit a few years ago, wont be doing it again that's for sure.

I only had a few hours spare so just went up and came back down. Will probably go back sometime and go all around the plateau.
It made a nice change walking on something sandy/gritty rather than the usual clayey muddy slop around here.

Lovely gusty headwind to push against on the way home. I did not elect to take the 30km route home, but the standard 16. I'll do hills tomorrow lunchtime as penance.

    Evening folks,
Busy day of wfw. Fortunately a few that had been furloughed are back, unfortunately a few that had been furloughed are back. Time off certainly doesn't fix stupid. Was a bit windy and horrible so with my resolving to only ride when I'll enjoy it I drove in. Went for a brisk walk at lunchtime though.

Evening all. Busy day of interviewing today, managed to appoint someone though. Just catching up.

@Wheelspinner - sorry it’s been a cr@p day and really hope something gets worked out.

And what’s the shizzle with the cargo bike business?

Anyway, just getting the 9yo off to sleep then time for a nice cuppa.

    Re.: Discs:

IM(humble)O, I think it's down to physical weight.
If you are over 65kg's, you'd probably prefer discs but it you're below that, I doubt they make much difference.
I mean, take Hoppy @ 25mph - that's a helluva lot of mass that needs stopping.
There's always the exception - take Stevo: 46 kg's but very feeble. Not enough strength to pull on the callipers. Had discs, still hit a poor, defenceless tree.

So you'd be happy with rim brakes on your light sports car then :)
