Which tool to remove a centre lock rotor ring?

My brother in law has a spesh roubaix with 105 and needs to replace the hub bearings however we're struggling to find the right tool to remove the centre lock rotor.
I know that a cassette lock ring tool will work but both his and mine aren't deep enough to fit over the hub spacer (might be the wrong term).
Any thoughts?

Now, I am far from an expert on matters mechanical, but I had a very similar problem. You'll have take that thing out (is it a through-axle?) to get that lock ring off, I reckon. Then get some externally splined lockrings, which use a bottom bracket tool to get them on and off.

Thanks for that link, getting the spacer out without damaging it might be the problem...Advocate of disc brakes.0

Not sure of the combination of things here but... I have a QR with a centre lock rotor, is a 105 cassette and a Borg? hub. I've taken off the rotor a while back, possibly using an X-tools brand hand tool thing. Haven't had to strip that wheel in quite a while. Recent activity has been on a GRX cassette on Formula (rubbish!) brand through axle hub, but with 6 bolt rotor. My std socket set cassette tool is too short to reach over the hub so I've had to use the hand X-tools to remove the cassette.
Not sure if that makes sense? Think I'm saying the X-tools one must be longer reach than the std socket one. Means I can't use the torque wrench on reassembly, just tighten as far as can using the hand tool.0 -
I had problems with my cassette lock ring not being long enough to remove a rotor, so I had to get a longer one - something like this worked for me:

Just remove the end cap - it will either be push fit (so pull out) or screwed in, so unscrew it. Use a piece of old inner tube to protect it and give it a yank/unscrew using mole grips. Once removed your short cassette tool should work.0
