Green Slime, came out when trying to pump tyres

Hello folks,
I had green slime added to my tyres recently, by Halfords. When I tried to add air to the the tyre, a gush of green slime sprayed over me. Is this normal? Does green slime not require you to inflate tyres? I'm just wondering if I have lost the pressure and I dont want my bike pump to get broken by the green slime?

Are you sure you had the pump connected to the valve properly?

Sounds like you had pressure in the tyre still and the valve was at the bottom when you tried connecting your pump to it. Sealant in your pump will gunge it up so to be avoided, just make sure the valve is at the top and the sealant will naturally go to the bottom of the tube / tyre avoiding further problems.
Too many bikes according to Mrs O.
  • Thank you Oxoman, I will try with the value at the top.
