Sorry noob question...
I’ve just ordered a broadman CXR 8.9 for a combination of road and gravel path for leisure biking with friends and family and maybe the odd commute. 20 miles a time.
Ive got an old Razor helmet from Halfords but to be honest it doesn’t look very sleek and stylish and when on it feels a bit like a 80s American cop helmet (very round at the front) and I’m looking for a reasonable priced smart sporty looking helmet.
Any recommendations?
Budget is around £50. Hope you can help. Colour ideally black or white.
Oh and I wear glasses if they makes a difference.

Giro Foray, around about your budget.Plenty of colours to choose from including black and white.0

Try to find a bike shop and try some on, or try some on at Halfords when you collect your bike. Helmets are different shapes as we have different shaped heads - some are more round, some are more oval.
Many cyclists wear sunglasses, but as someone who also wears prescription glasses, it's not so easy to just change them if they don't sit comfortably with your helmet.0 -
Went to Halfords yesterday but they haven't got many in. Also my bike is being delivered.
Seen this one also on PlanetX that gets good reviews

They do a LED version and a non-LED version - for the price was going to give one a try.
I ideally wanted matt white but this is out of stock in the LED version so would have to go matt black.
I know colour is a personal opinion but would I be better with matt white and no LED or matt black with LED?

Seems to get a good review.

Yeah seems good but would you go white with no LED or black with LED?0

Planet X stuff is cheap and people rate it highly..
The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

I'd go white (or some other bright colour) personally. You can attach a light to your bike and/or your helmet easily enough if you want and a bright helmet is a plus for visibility during daylight and night.mdavenport555 said:Yeah seems good but would you go white with no LED or black with LED?

+1 for the Giro Foray, did a great job of saving my bonce when I had a big off last year.0

are you wearing it for looks or protection? both items are questionable.
since you asked for advice Id say don't bother, save your money, spend it on a toilet seat or lunch with the family or something useful.

You can pick up a kask rapido, depending on colour, for £50.
https://www.wiggle.co.uk/kask-mojito-sport-road-helmet
if you don't mind yellow and black you can pick up a mojito for £59, which was top of the range 5-6 years ago.0 -

Final one, this is in the colour you want and gets decent write ups for the right price.0 -

I used to have monitors, but everyone I knew seemed to have them. When I needed a new one I got a Mavic askium elite, which you can get for around £50. Very happy with it.0
