160 to 180mm brake adapter

Hi, could someone advise me on what adaptor I would need to upgrade my caliper to handle 180mm rotors please. Maybe even 203mm.

I have had this info for several years, so I can't vouch for the pricing quoted.

These are for mounting the callipers to fit discs of various sizes.


The above adaptors are available from Superstar Components for £4.99 each (type 9 +£1)

Type 1: PM-IS F160
Type 2: PM-IS R160
Type 3: PM-IS F180
Type 4: PM-IS R180
Type 5: PM-IS F203
Type 6: PM-IS R203
Type 7: PM-PM F&R180
Type 8: PM-PM F&R203
Type 9: IS-IS F203

All you need to do next is to determine whether the brake mount is PM (post mount) or IS (International Standard) type.

Your current fork has no adapter therefore it’s 160mm post mount.

If you go to 180mm you will need a 160pm to 180pm adapter.

if you go to 200mm you will need a 160pm to 200pm adapter.

Check the maximum brake size your fork is rated to handle before going 200mm

Note Also make sure adapter is 160 to 200 if going to 200.
If it’s not clear (as in type 8 on Steve’s list) it maybe 180mm to 200mm.
