Do bike shops give discounts?

Hello everyone,
For elementary, middle, and even high school students, a bicycle is a familiar object. It is a vehicle to help them go to school, hang out, and serve many other purposes. My son is about to enter third grade right now, so I want to buy him a bicycle, I wonder if there are any discounts at the bicycle store? Hope everyone can let me know.
Thanks everyone.

Barely any discounts around right now as the bike shops can sell everything at RRP, such is the demand.0

I get 10% off at the bike shop I use.0

My Local shop will give occasional and ad-hoc discounts to their regulars, but that's the sort of thing that local businesses do for their loyal customers.0

Supply and demand. More likely to get discount on old stock.
Old stock works perfectly well. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
From my experience if you have a relationship with your LBS they may still offer discounts despite the current shortages. If you are a first time customer things might be different. In fact a work colleague who ordered a bike last year and is still waiting for it has been asked to pay an additional amount to cover a price increase.0

You will have to ask at 'the bike store' , wherever that is!0
