MTB shoes ok for touring

My Specialized Elite touring shoes have been wonderful for winter road riding and touring but are now showing their age. Of course they are no longer made and I can’t see a new equivalent from Specialized so looking for recommendations. Need to be stiff enough for long touring days but OK for a bit of walking so I’d prefer to avoid hard core MTB shoes as I’ve found before they are a bit ‘wobbly’ to walk in. Also I need wide fitting shoes (bunion!)
What do you use?

If you can find any of the old Shimano RT82s they would be great. Shame they discontinued them.
The RX8s are the Shimano "Gravel" shoes which would be decent for touring. Quite expensive though.
If your feet are really wide, I think Lake do some shoes in wide fitting options.0 -
How do you find the Giro sizing compared with Shimano touring?oxoman said:I used to have the older shimano,s RT but didn't like the newer models so i defected to Giro,s.

I take a narrowish 44/45 in real shoes, 46 in shimano.

I have a pair of these and while I didn't buy them with the intention of touring, I can see it. Good platform, comfortable to walk in, cleats well out of the way etc.waughglen said:0
