Old Mavic Rims - Modern Tyre

I have a 27 year old road bike with Mavic rims. Recently I decided to get this old back back on the road. So I purchased Schwalbe Durano DD folding tyres. Hard to get on but did eventually. Ridden once but when riding the bike feels wobbly. Is there a chance that these modern tyres are not suited to old rims? The tyres are 700x25. The rims are Mavic 4 Open CD. Any views would be appreciated.

If you have not ridden the bike for a long time then it will feel ‘wobbly’ until you get the feel of it.
The rims should handle that size but I wouldn’t go any bigger. Google them and you will find info on tyre sizes etc.1 -
Just to add make sure the tyre is seated properly.1

If they were difficult to mount, make sure they're seated properly as DD says. In terms of compatibility, this Continental tyre/rim chart (lifted from ETRTO) says a 13C rim inner width (Mavic 4 Open are a touch wider) are fine with 25mm tyres.

And it's a very conservative chart, IMO.Ben
