HELLO!
I have just ordered my first mountain bike to commute to work (muddy trial to work)
I ordered a Carrera Kraken I was just wondering is there any modifications I should do to this bike and if this bike is actually anygood?
People at Halfords seemed a bit useless
Any Advice is welcome
Thanks

Get the bike and make sure it is adjusted to fit you I.e. saddle height and for and aft, do a few rides and then see.
I would suggest some type of MTB mudguards to reduce how mucky you get and a frame or seatpost bag to put your tools and spares in.
My best upgrade to new MTB recently was a pair of MTB pedals with the metal pins, they help hold your feet in place.

The Kraken should serve you fine as a first bike for commuting off road.
As already advised, ensure saddle position and height are correct and also try different tyre pressures. 30psi may be a good start point if commute is not tarmac.
Once you are riding it, you will then start dreaming of which upgrades you MUST have ...........0 -

Here is a good video from GMBN about bike fit and body position.

Set the saddle height so that your leg is straight when you heel is on the pedal at its lowest position. When you then move your foot to the correct position on the pedal there should be a slight bend in your knee.
