Sora 3300 STI Broken Cable Extraction.

Anybody managed to remove one of these when it is this badly trapped, not on its groove. It's the old Sora where it comes out of the side.

    yes, its a pain, just keep calm and it will come. (possibly with some minor dismantling).

    To answer my own question, after many frustrating hours of trying to wiggle it free I opted for option two.
    Drill a small hole, shift the lever up and down until the cable end appeared, small screwdriver to bring it out.
    Works as good as new, will stick a bung in or tape over the hole. Took five minutes.
