Snapped off rear derailleur - would this new one fit?

Complete notice here... managed to snap the rear derailleur off my mountain bike during a bit of a temper tantrum.
I have a Trek 6500 mountain bike - 2009 version as shown here: https://archive.trekbikes.com/ca/en/2009/trek/6500#/ca/en/2009/trek/6500/details
The bike is a 9 speed and currently has a Shimano XT Deore rear derailleur.
I was looking on Wiggle and they only have one 9 speed one which is a SRAM one - https://www.wiggle.co.uk/sram-x5-89-speed-rear-derailleur
Would this fit and work do you think? It doesn't look too difficult, I just need one of those ball end allen keys. The only thing I am a bit worried about is the cable that runs from the gears all the way down - I'm not sure how hard that will be to get to the right tightness.
Thanks everyone

It’s not about the cable run, it’s whether the SRAM rear mech has the same pull ratio as the Shimano one. I suspect it won’t work but hopefully someone will know for sure.0

Thanks for the reply, I actually bought a Shimano one in the end:webboo said:It’s not about the cable run, it’s whether the SRAM rear mech has the same pull ratio as the Shimano one. I suspect it won’t work but hopefully someone will know for sure.

OP. Did you actually snap the derailleur itself or just the derailleur hanger?0
