Since everyone keeps praising Trek bikes...
if I have two options of a Carrera vengeance or a trek 3700 and my budget for a new bike is roughly £325
which one should I choose or should I consider something else? (i am intending to use it on tracks)

They don't do Trek 3000 series any more,the best bet is a Marlin 5 for around £500.
If you mean second hand maybe.
The Vengeance is in your price range for a new bike but you may get other brands on the second hand market.0
