The best, cheapest and most reliable pedal power meter by far is the Favero Assimo, but it is Look based.0

And I don't think they're available to buy anywhereelbowloh said:https://www.bikeradar.com/news/srm-x-power-meter-pedals/
Very expensive though
IQ2 are producing one, and it is reasonably priced but they're also having issues with getting it produced/delivered: https://www.iqsquare.com/ For some reason they seem to be focussing on getting the road version produced first rather than the SPD.

There is a way to convert them to SPD: https://gplama.com/2019/12/11/favero-assioma-xpedo-spd-hack-gravel-power/joe2019 said:The best, cheapest and most reliable pedal power meter by far is the Favero Assimo, but it is Look based.

There isn't one yet. Shimano haven't opened their spd pedal patent.Sutton_Rider said:Anyone know of a pedal type power meter that works / uses Shimano SPD Cleats?
Rumours are growing that shimano are developing their own pedal pm after giving up on their crank pm.
Fwiw the assiomas are brilliant.0 -
I thought that was the case, there wasn't one, but I thought I would pose the question just to make sure. Many thanks to those that answered.0

I heard that it had recently expired - https://patents.google.com/patent/US6640663B1/en seems to suggest so too.redvision said:

DC Rainmaker suggested in 2019 that loads of SPD power meter would be coming out as a result, but that doesn't seem to have happened. You've either got SRM or IQ2.
You'd think Favero would stick an SPD body on their pedals.

You can change the pedal body of the Assiomas to SPD but obviously that invalidates the warranty. There are guides on the internet.Sutton_Rider said:Thanks, but I need them to be Shimano SPD compatible.

Garmin have one now - https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/training/power-meters/garmin-rally-rs200-power-meter-pedals-review/ comes in an SPD version, and some UK retailers have stock!0

They look great... But very expensive!0

As usual, redvision comes on with some of his reliable insider information that once again turns out to be b0llocks.redvision said:

The same bloke that crashed into the back of a bus because he was looking at his ‘numbers’.

Er, the info I stated about shimano cleats came from Shane Miller. And the garmin rally pedals might use a shimano style cleat but it is not a genuine shimano cleat, suggesting that they still have some type of patent holding that - note there are loads of pedals which are shimano cleat compatible.thegreatdivide said:

Oh and shimano are still rumoured to be developing there own pedal pm.
And regarding my accident, you have no f-ing idea what happened so I suggest you stop making bullsh*t accusations.
