Morning SG, you've found my weakness. Maths and funny symbols. Last used by me in anger about 30yrs ago, I love ready made calculus spreadsheets for working out various electrical formulae. Last shift today till Xmas eve then on call for a few days. Won't be doing a great deal if I can help it. Great British weather looking decidedly Welsh at the minute. Enjoy your break those of you who've already broken up for Xmas. :s:'(

Morning, raining windy ,typical weekend weather, I will not be cycling today .
I can just remember a few formulas oxoman, when at tech college they wanted us to workout the efficiency of an electric kettle , using a stop watch and thermometer, for some reason I’ve never used that formula again, or checked the efficiency of a kettle.
    Have a good weekend

    Surely you all know n+1?

Rain has eased off here, I've overslept.
Need to pop out on bike before Christmas shopping carnage starts.

It is absolutely honking out there - dark, hacking down, cold.

I'm going to have, do a weights sesh and insist on not leaving the house.

  • Give over you big Jessie!
I'd give the Royal Marines a swerve if you consier this cold.
It's typical December shorts wearing weather for CB
Hammered it down in the night mind you, but mild and damp now.

Anyway, sat having a brew before going out to do the first round of deliveries. Been in since 6am and up since 4am with a steady 20 odd mile commute sandwiched in the middle.

Got the D-lock secured to a length of chain to keep unwary Covid breathers away. A quick dig in the shins should do the job

Daddy day care as the wife is getting her hair reshaped, so hoping to go to Llandegla 😎, but I bet the youngest is too tired 🙄

Out with the current wife for our Christmas night out later

WL^3 / 48EI. Rolls straight off the tongue.
All activity out of the house cancelled as DHLs have entered isolation ahead of christmas. Or rather, any excuse to avoid the Barbershop.

X equals the square root of A squared plus B squared plus C squared divided by 2.

20 miles 'mostly downhill' in 2 hours... that's 10 mph ave.
Therefore, it'll take you 4 hours to get home.
Perhaps the Cub Scouts would be better for you.

Forecast was showers for the wind to drop and the sun to appear. Liars.
Might wrap pressies and do some domestic chores and head out tomorrow instead.

Where did I actually say I was cycling for 2 hours?

Probably right about the 4 hour ride home though

4am to 6am was the assumption.

He makes crappy assumptions, can’t spell and he’s attempting to fleece the old and vulnerable on another thread.

    Sorry state of affairs.

    Morning folks,
Slow start was attempted but didn't do very well as the EPO was out early to get her ears lowered, thankfully the lad took over taxi duties so I just pottered about a bit. More of the same this afternoon I think.
  • Mixed day of mostly meh.

Nice ride late afternoon though once the showers had quit. Would like to tick off the goal of 3000 km this year, and down to 150 to go. Pleased with that.

Afternoon all, we've just about cleared up after a very muddy outing with the hounds. Bit of lunch then off to buy a Christmas tree and a trip to the shop's to stock up on food and grog. Waitrose now have a 'book a shopping time and go straight in' system so I'll flick the v's to the covid riddled masses queuing outside as I swan through the doors

The news is reporting a mutant covid strain originating in Kent - really not what we need, we've got enough mutants here already.

Will get traced back to Park Gove, the Brexsh*t lorry park, sorry job opportunity.

Christmas stress getting to people on here? As Woody said, "Play Nice".

Bit of bike fettling for Daughter #1, ride planned for tomorrow; outside Chrissy lights sorted out, subdued and stylish, none of that flashing keerap. Inside tree still to be decorated; however priority is a low slow cook beef rogan josh style curry to be prepped and ovened.

I'm well above that and also tier 4 from tomorrow.
So all that prep for a bike race tomorrow has been for nothing.

I'm all for living for the moment etc. but less than a day's notice isn't really on.

Luckily I got my aero haircut done this morning.

whathampton? the name tells one that it's in the deep north

rule of thumb: middle bit, w1, sw1 are mostly ok, outside the circle is mostly dodgy, and beyond the outer edge, hic sunt dracones et inmortuorum
