Time to upgrade

Hi everyone I’ve had my cube attain gtc for about 3.5 years now and it’s looking a bit dated so I’m in the market for a new bike on a budget of no more than 2k I really fancy the trek Edmonda alr5 I know it’s a different style of bike but I can get hold of one for £1775 2021 also I’m a bit in doubt with it being aluminium I know they say it’s as stiff as low end carbon but is it really and has anyone got a trek alr if so how do they compare with carbon thanks Pete
