Morning, freezing with fog nearly ended up on the pavement a couple of times whilst out with the dog, just having a bowl of porridge to warm myself up a bit, might attempt a ride later if this fog lifts.
    Have a good day
  • Another breezy day. Dog walked, to inspect progress on local building sites. Spent a couple of hours pulling weeds again, stockpiling them for a run to the tip soon.

Late afternoon trundle around local backroads. Parked up here to wait out a passing shower.

  • School run for me also as one of the little people stayed over last night. We watched The BFG who's ending is nothing like the book, what's so non PC about dropping a bunch of child eating giants in a huge pit and throwing manky vedge at them?

    Trying to WFH.

Getting Virgin media tv and broadband. Engineer has been and gone, but can't install it because the other company who sere supposed to pull the cable haven't done it yet, even though said company was here last week. So, the chap has to come back later when i'm in the middle of a meeting. Plus he tells me that Virgin have run out of TV boxes so I'm only getting the internet today and the TV box will come later.

Plus the builders are finally back to do the drive after being no shows for the whole of last week.

    FFS.

I'm guessing the new one, it's currently on Netflix where the giants get dropped on an island at the end

As far as MTB's are concerned, that's quite bearable to look at.

Stevo666 can't login. Not banned but having Gateway timeout/Varnish cache(?) error messages. I've contacted mods but is there anything he can do?
Mind you, it will be quite civil in CS :)

    Sky cleared and then brrrrrr....

Was going to pedal but this morning's Flu jab is making me feel more flakier than usual.

    Morning folks,
Finished teams meeting on the laptop and about to head in to the orifice. Still cold and foggy out so quite glad I have to drive.
I thought the Thatcher thread was quiet, no Stevo explains it. I can't log in from my PC either so added to Piña's post.
Have a good day and try to keep it rubber side down if you go out.

Cold. Teams etc. On the plus side, Mrs H³ will hopefully bring me back a banh mi and some summer rolls from Kingston.

I bought the frame for peanuts, not expecting much, whacked in a carbon rigid fork I had in a box, and built it with bits left over. It makes a terrific all-purpose thing to punt around easy trails, gravel roads, and on those wheels/tyres, a fairly usable roadie.

All up it cost me less than a fifth of my "best" bike, but other than a bit of extra weight it's just as good to ride for what I do.

Weirdly, I've had login issues on and off ever since the migration to new platform, and don't think there's much interest from admin in fixing it.

@Stevo_666 if you see this... go to the BR Home Page (not the Forum page) and try login there first, then go to Forum and log in again.

That usually fixes it for me. NFI *why* it does, but it does.

Mods is there anything we can do about Stevo!? He’s trying desperately to log in but can’t. 😔 can we maybe break something technical before he succeeds! 😫

Just watched Mr Beard meets food eat 20 Greggs festive bakes, feeling quite peckish now, I’d settle for 2.

Love a bit of banh mi. Never had it until i went to 'Nam and bought some from a cart in Hoi An. It was so good i went back and ordered a second one straight away. Googled it after and that cart had been quoted as having the best banh mi in the world.

Had it a few times here too (Carrots and Daikon in Kentish Town was ok), but haven't quite found what i'm looking for (to be expected though).

    I love Vietnamese food.

I dunno where you work/live, but City Caphe is very good, it has 2 outlets in the city (i think they're temporarily closed now though) Also 36 Streets in Kingston is lovely.

Doubt it'll ever measure up to the real thing!

So, a second engineer has turned up, but he's come out to try to do the same job as the first guy...but obviously he can't do it because the cable hasn't been pulled yet.
Apparently the office chaps have taken the job off the first guy and given it to the second without actually sorting out the cable pull.

Yeah, I really like the look of that particular bike, tis nice

I had the gateway timeout error on Saturday while trying to logon in a different system, annoying! Tried several browsers, clearing my cache, cookies etc. no joy. Surprised BR haven't sorted it yet.

Had a good little ride in the real world yesterday, I got nice and warm while pedalling along, but my toes were ice when I got back. Have to sort something out for them.

I really need to go to the shops (for essentials) but with the hordes of virus carriers going out window shopping I'm very nervous about doing this. More tea!

Back in from another pre-Brextshit foray into the wilds of Costco. Prepper-me or what? Bonus their own brand Colombian ground coffee is back in stock.

Was considering an afternoon pootle with D #1 who is on a day off as well, but 'kin cold and claggy. Was 0.5C now lifted to an almighty 1.5 but that dreich cold mist is still hanging about making things miserable so no go. Xxxx about on t'internet instead.

When the MFs lived there they used to buzz off chicken or beef pho at 6 in the morning at the side of Hanoi central lake whilst smoking fake Chinese Marlboro red, watching the locals do their stuff and quaffing copious amounts of coffee.

Doing the same watching the sun rise over the sea in Nha Trang was also a winner.

Never had a bad meal, if it was dumplings at the bus station at 2 in the morning or steak tartare - all delish.
