Felt AR1 vs Felt AR FRD

Hello everyone,

I'm eyeing on Felt frame and can't figure out the difference between them.

This is 2019/2020 frame from Felt website:

https://eu-en.feltbicycles.com/products/frame-ar-frd-aero-road-frame?variant=14697887924339

and this one is

Thank you so much.

Just received a response from Felt after 3 days.

"The FRD version is the lighter/stiffer carbon version. FRD is the high end product at Felt"

In Felt's range, FRD designated models are usually just a bit stiffer and lighter than the "1". Most the spec, if not all is identical.

I have a Felt F1 and above that they the FRD. When i looked at the price difference it wasn't justified, particularly as I got my frame in a sale at almost 40% off.

" Felt AR1 is a high-performing and more affordable version of the world-class AR FRD."

Also, there is a thread on another forum (hope this is allowed) where engineers from felt actually respond to the thread! I've asked a few things on there over the years (I also have a z6)

Thank you guys. I managed to source AR FRD for £1850 shipped from Ireland. Seemed like a great deal.
