Dyeing / colouring saddle?

Anyone know how easy it would be to dye a white saddle black? It's an old Specialized Toupe covered with some sort of plastic, lightly textured faux leather.

Is there some sort of paint or dye that would colour this evenly and wouldn't wear off?
