Vitus crank upgrade question
I currently ride a vitus venom vr, my question is my crankset is an fsa grossamer 50/39 the rest of my running gear is 105 and I want to upgrade the crank to a 105 50/39. I have checked the bottom bracket and cannot find a number to say if its a case of swapping em over or if indeed I need a new bottom bracket bearing. Anyone here shed some help on it please.?

Have you compared the weight of the cranksets, having a look at the images, I suspect the 105 is heavier, so the change will probably be a downgrade.
But if you really want to do this, you will need to find what Bottom Bracket (BB) standard your bike uses and then get a new BB that fits Shimano hollowtech 2 cranks. Depending on what year your bike is, it seems to use a different BB standard. This is a good website to find the exact specs:

This is the link to my bike, I’m now thinking as I’m winter training do I keep this as it is and look at a build ready for spring time.
This bike didn’t cost me much at all so I have no issue leaving it sat on the trainer0 -
It's fitted with an FSA MegaExo (BSA) BB.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

Look a new Shimano threaded BB is only £15 for the RS500vysie said:
So will a 105 crank fit without having to swap the BB out for new? i have decided to upgrade this bike and then eventually swap out the frame and re use the gear set on the new framepinno said:It's fitted with an FSA MegaExo (BSA) BB.

It's not a lot of dosh to remove the uncertainty of mis-matching standards1 -
Will order it up in prep for the swap, just changed the bars and stem to the prime aero and really pleased how they turned out. Just need to cut the tube now to lower the stem.0

Can you get a 50/ 39 chainset . I thought it was 53/39, 52 /36 or 50/ 340

The fsa megaexo BSA bb is 1mm narrower overall than a shimano and the bearings not as good. Just buy the shimano bb to go with it, as above.0

i meant 52/36 my bad.0
