I promise to try my best to pick up some minor injury to moan about.
Do beak marks on the back of my neck count?

Being a miserable old git could be classed as a condition.

  • Thumb still sore from dislocating it a few weeks back, but apart from that, everything else seems tickety-boo.
Already clocked up over 100 deliveries today over a 20 mile route. Just about to go out and do some of the daily set calls for a bit of variety.
It's not raining, so everything else pales into insignificance.

I almost feel guilty for having nothing to moan about.

Don't feel guilty; wallow in it!

My physical ailments are football / rugby - only myself to blame, really! And I'm predisposed mentally to the other stuff - on the bad days, yeh, that's my fault too!

  • Slowly getting over a diverticulitis flare up.

Fourth occasion this year which is frustrating. I must pay more attention to my diet.

eeeeehhhhh, I'm OK physically, apart from going oooof, whenever changing position. I'm as mad as a box of frogs sometimes though, and my arms aren't long enough to read stuff when I have my contacts in, and my right shoulder that I separated coming off my bike hurts when the wind's in the east. Just had my tooth fixed yesterday, so can't moan about that any more. eeeeeeeh.
  • Nothing to report...

Had a Lemsip in February 2019 and I think that's the last time I took some kind of drug. Thanks to Covid and WFH I didn't get my usual dose of Corona-colds this year.

SInce I stopped doing Audax, haven't had any DOMS or other joint pains...

    Unfortunately 'tis true.
But faults are a different matter. I have a wife to remind me of them.

I can safely say in spite of my current ailments I'm doing better than the trouble. She was riding to the shops a couple of months ago and got doored. Wound up with a broken pelvis. She can get about a bit now without crutches but still painful.
We certainly don't bounce as well as we used to.
She can still remind me of my faults of course, she's just a little more reluctant to at the moment.

    This.

Although do get a flair up of plantar fasciitis in my left foot if I walk for 3+ hours. It's related to tight calf muscles, but is relieved by doing/getting better at the Asian squat exercise. Not going to moan about this though as the Asian squat is a beneficial exercise over the long term

You should have posted in this thread that I live in your head, would have been simpler.

You appear very upset this evening, punctured your girlfriend and haven’t got any glue or patch’s left.
  • Hmmn, add me to the list of the injured from another sport, a permanently knackered ankle from my football days. Had surgery on it to chip a load of bone off when I was still playing but it grew back. Now has osteoarthritis in there too so can't even run these days which I really miss, loved doing cross country races in the winter.
  • Knackered.
    Does that count?

Normally all good, but did my back in a week ago, it’s almost fixed (no tablets only hot water bottle today).

Will have loads to complain about on Saturday afternoon after doing an ultra

I had this, also known as policeman's heel. I used to get it first thing in the morning as the calves tightened overnight. It was bloody painful with the tendon pulled away from the heel bone. I got it from playing footy on hard surfaces.

So, sitting here at my desk at the moment, I can feel the constant pain I have in my left calf due to a ripped muscle caused by a car crash in 2002, while my right foot hurts from where I broke it back in 1985 playing football....

After lifting the broken washing machine down the steps last week, my right bicep injury is playing up again: an injury caused after going over the bars when hitting a kerb in March 2015. Currently I can't raise my arm above shoulder level.

And then there is my back and hips. I am currently in the process of losing three discs which might mean I'll need an op on my spine in the next couple of years. I managed to walk 1 1/2 miles the other day which left me in a lot of pain.

    Basically, I am falling apart.

I thoroughly enjoyed my footballing days, but by heck has it left me with a few niggles! 😅

I have the back end of a cold. God knows how I caught it with all of the distancing/mask wearing/sanitising/closure that's going on in the world. Hence no cycle commute or riding of any sort so far this week. Sitirrings of gout earlier in the week quashed immediately with a short course of the necessary drugs. Rugby injuries nagging as ever in the colder weather.

Finally having my foot looking and feeling towards normal.

I walked out to the bin around 29th Oct and forgot there was a stack of old window frames in the way. I walked into them in the dark with all the confidence that comes from believing way is clear :)

After the initial round of fux, I limped back inside and continued making dinner, it was only later that I realised my foot felt a bit sticky. Inspection revealed the toe nail nearly off and bruising passed the knuckle.

Even at the weekend i could hardly get my cycle shoes on.

The older I get, the better I was.

you may have broken your toe, did the foot turn black and blue

the good news is that there is nothing they can do so you did not miss out on any treatment.
  • It would be easier for me to tell you what's good, rather than spend hours/days listing the things that are wrong with me, but I'm still smiling.

Yup. And smelly, which was a bit worrying.

All back to normal now though. I think it was slightly dislocated at one of the joints, When I could bear to touch it, there was a click accompanied by a sharp pain and then relief.
