Carbon paste needed?

hi all, just wondering carbon paste is essential for fitting a carbon seatpost to a carbon frame? I haven't had any slipping issues but got told it's good practice..

    It's not completely necessary for a carbon post in a carbon frame. It can let you use lower torque if that's needed, and if installing carbon with metal it can be good to guard against corrosion.

    I do with mine, slipping posts really irritate me and it won't hurt.
