So many hardtails

Okay so basically I've got a $2000 budget.
I've found the Specialized fuse, Santa Cruz Chameleon, Marin San Quentin 3 and Rocky mountain growler.
The Chameleon seems super bomber but I want to make sure it's aggressive enough to hand descents at speed.
Tips or recommendations?

In general I reckon long, low, slack geometry and good solid forks are the most important comparisons to make for aggressive downhill riding.
Don't rush, plenty of research and checking out user reviews for an informed view before you pull the trigger especially if this is your first 'serious mtb' purchase.
One of those choices will start to stand out as the right one for you.
For what it's worth I vote for the Santa Cruz, it's a solid choice and you wouldn't be making a mistake or disappointed buying one IMO.0 -
I'd add Orange crush to your list but i would also probably go Santa Cruz from your list.
I just looked up all the usual British hardcore hardtails (cotic, btr, stanton etc) that i'd like to own but $2000 is not quite enough these days.1
