Morning, dry with a blustery wind, another busy day and early start again.
    Have a good day

    Ayup!
Early start, but at least I've slept.
Makes a nice change, not huge hours, 4-5, but it's enough, keeps me ticking over.
Haven't got a clue what the weather is doing, but I've a black coffee at the side of me, once it's gone I'm out to knock off some miles before the roads awaken for another day. A steady downhillish 20 mile commute into Derby.
WFW this morning, then cycle back to Ashbourne to chauffeur the OH in for her 2pm shift, WFH this afternoon. Her house is a tip and she'll hate me for it, but it's getting blitzed later. We're like chalk and cheese, I need orderliness and knowing where everything is at any one time, while she lives in a bomb site and hates me tidying up, but it can't be good for her peace of mind in what has been a trying few weeks, so b*ll*ckings ahoy for me later

Apart from that a pretty average day, as usual.

Off out today to look at things which won't be fun because I've hardly slept.

Evacuation order out on one of our sites as the river level jumped up overnight.

Long(ish) run today for a race 2 weeks away that I’m positive will be cancelled 🙄

Then off to see some friends before it’s banned again

Late start, non physical working day, a wee bit of admin this morning before a lunchtime pub meet with some friends - pub been refurbished by local brewery and is starting up an inhouse nanobrewery over next few months. Good to see investment in these times. There will be more than 6 of us 😳! Given it's table service these days, we booked neighbouring tables, while of course we won't mingle...

Current mizzle drizzle supposed to stop by lunchtime, but prob still an opportunity to try out the new waterproofs. 45min or so ride to the pub. Or I could just take the bus. Nah, the bike.

Edit: hopefully the bike won't set off any claymores.

    Hmm... a marathon.

Wet, wet, wet here. Yesterday's pedal will have to do me for a few days.
Tomorrow's forecast is dry. Will clean out drainage and sluices and do some cementing as they're getting clogged up ever too easy. That'll be fun. So i'll dodge the rain showers and go to the building merchants, wheeze the juice with the boys, get a free hot drink and head home.
That should pass a couple pf hours.

I did one a *very* long time ago, and also swore I'd never do another. 30 years later that oath is unbroken...

Beautiful spring day, spent out and about doing things I'd rather not have...

Appointment (overdue after reschedule from March) with skin specialist for check-over of all the moles, freckles and blemishes to see if any look iffy. Hardly a dignified moment standing in front of the nurse armed with a high-def macro camera pointed at my bare @r$e.

Followed by more congenial meeting with financial advisor, then some car parts shopping on the way home.

Sitting in the office watching it rain, hopefully finished by time I ride home. At least I avoided waking Strifey, Muttley and Gnasher on the way out.

Have a Full English lunch arranged for Saturday with a couple of mates: guess what, the weather is pants and we're sitting outside. Apparently they have a canopy but its looking pretty windy as well so better tog up.

I entered load of races this year and most got postponed until next year and I can't remember what I have/haven't entered which could end up being a bit of a shock.

    Oo matron!

Several beers at lunchtime in a non mingling, separate tables, get together with some old, well true dat, but let's rephrase as long term pals. 14 of us. When your tables are set in a good way one can still chat across. While talking is still permitado in our strange world.

Got there a bit late. You know the feeling when your brain is saying you've forgotten something... keys yeah, wallet yeah, what is it? 'Kin face covering innit. Only 10 mins out so quick turn round. Then decide to route via one bridleway rather than another which think will be sticky. Wrong call. 'Kin mud bath. And eventually lost the front wheel. Quite a bit of bike and clothing washing required.

But all and all, good day.

Early night after this somewhat tedious Vuelta stage on the catch up. Please may I volunteer Mr C Kirby for the sacrificial burning like wot we need to fend off the Bug.

I'd take Kirby over Hatch. Cannot stand his over dramatic stage ending cliche's and exaggerated foreign name pronunciation. What is it, 'I can speak 4 languages and this is how they say it' and i'm a clever dick?
