Getting to Bedgebury Forest Sans Car?

What do you think is he best option for getting there by train and bike, while avoiding time spent on busy roads? I've looked at the different rail options, and I've come to the conclusion that Stonegate is the best, nearest, station to cycle from. Thoughts? I'm sure someone must have done this. I'm coming from north Kent.

I'm now thinking Paddock Wood, partly using NCN 18 is the best option......

It's not well served by public transport; I've never even thought about trying to get there other than in a car.

I managed to get there last week, and today (not very successfully as per my other thread). My brother has a car and he took me.

In fact the day wasn't that successful for either of us. Apart from my woes, he couldn't get his front wheel in when he took his bike out of the car because his disc brake pads had closed together (I've advised him about the spacer you are supposed to put in), and for some reason his chain kept coming off.
