Wish I could go on some training, 6 years at current place and nothing despite asking.
Back seems slightly better this morning after getting so bad yesterday I felt sick. Going to try and run it out of the system.
The gym has cut my membership short by 8 days which means, at the moment I can't go this week. Need to give them a ring to convince them to give me 4 days back, there's no much point renewing when they're going to be shut for at least 2 weeks from Friday.

One of the chaps I did Kilimanjaro stayed over last night on the way back from goodwood, hence the car porn. RS4, Ferrari 458, XJ220 and a 335d - think I won on miles per gallon.

Today is work stuff then chill

Yours would be the 335d I presume. Wouldn't be hard.

    Soggy overnight.
    Looks like indoor pedalling.
    Plus - make blackcurrant jelly.

I guess Alaphillipe won't be renewing his MCN subscription.

Might wash the porker. It really is filthy.

    Ayup!

Interviewed Xmas casuals in Loughborough and Leicester earlier, good excuse for a ride/commute, so a good 60 miles in the legs already.

Very impressed with newly fitted PDW mudguards, not so much by leaking Endura jacket, might be time for an upgrade.

Finally got round to trying a Greggs vegan sausage roll, nowhere near as good as my homemade offeings, but far less time consuming.

More interviews this afternoon in Derby, then hoping to slope off early for a bit of me time with the beautiful OH and pub based shenanigans later. Good excuse to get a few more miles in the legs cycling up to hers.

Really, really, need a decent nights sleep. Hopefully the alcohol will put me into some kind of catatonic slumber.

    Morning folks,
Another day of wfh, looks rather gloomy out there but I'm supposed to be going for a run shortly. In the office yesterday, still stupidly busy fending off stupid questions from those that should know better. New computer system has been delayed by another couple of months which is good and bad in equal measures. I will get new machine when the new system goes live which will be good, but can't have it yet as they don't want to install the old sh!t that will need clearing off soon after.
Put the jig for building bamboo bike together, found the thread in one side of the BB shell needs cleaning up. Might be ok when frame is assembled so i can get more leverage but I think I'll get the thread chased first to be sure.
how did one of TLW's mates drive three cars to his place?
  • Back to WFW again, sunny day too but I'm resting as yesterday wiped me out.

Last morning of taxi duty for a while (long while I hope). More yard work was the script for the rest of the day, followed by pub dinner.

We ended up having a mish mash of systems for a while: New starters were being given the new make/model of laptop but when they started catching fire they had to stop the rollout so for about 12 months we ended up with 3 types which all required various cables/adaptors to get them to work together.

Thistle beleive me doing a 4 day regs course isn't my idea of fun, especially as most is totally unused as a maintenance spark.

Sounds like our courses - the ones I need are for site based stuff but we only have the office/desk based ones.
I remember bringing it up a while ago and getting shot down and told "we don't do that kind of work in this company" even though it's what we do day in day out

En-route to the OH via local gin distillery

Now loaded up with enough bottles of booze to sink a battleship, pity it's all uphill to hers. Might be prudent to have a day off work tomorrow

Spent lunch hour walking the dog on the common instead of eating a sandwich whilst working. Very pleasant way to break up the day. Leaf fall is just starting, and a bonus heron on a log in Beverly Brook (V68 will know where I mean, I think he got up to all sorts of youthful hi jinks down there when he was a nipper).

I'm sure I posted on here earlier...must be getting old :)

Average day WFH and it actually went a bit quiet in the afternoon which was a bit weird. Just getting my waterproofs ready for tomorrows sligbtly moist ride in (if the the weather forecast is right). Then it's cider o'clock.

It's lovely down there now, they've done quite a lot of work on it. Still be muddy as hell through winter I'm sure.

Dog was not interested in the heron. If she'd have had her way, it would have been squirrel pie for weeks.

I guess I won't be cooking a Heron given it's tricky to avoid tasting fishy.

I'll save some fishy heron fluid next time to apply to my crack(s).

I've had puffin before and that's quite fishy. I assumed it was just the way the meat was but maybe they spilled puffin fluid while butchering it.
