  • From the top that was ultra close. MvdP looked much more committed in the sprint.

WvA closing but just not quick enough road to pass.

MvdP says he went so deep he couldn’t see the finish line when he crossed

MvdP says he went so deep he couldn’t see the finish line when he crossed

But he managed to get a perfectly timed bike throw?

From the top his sprint did look amazingly committed. Right over the front and forward - but still losing ground to WvA.

I think as in couldn’t tell if he won
  • Yeah he didn't know as he crossed the line, needed his term to confirm it

It's the new Cancellara / Boonen except the two are so similar as riders.

It would have mixed things up for sure.

    Great finish.

Very well played from VDP. Made WvA do more of the work and slowed down the start of the sprint.

WVA did too much of the work for me in the run in and he needs to be sprinting from a faster start. At the tour when you have lead out trains he flies as he can jump wheel to wheel and use that extra kick when already at full speed. Lacking that extra kick today.

Just gutted roubaix is off now. This rivalry is bubbling away nicely.

Girls have 37 to go "as live" on GCN app now, if you want one last look at Belgian cow fields until next spring...

Hmmm, AvV attacks at 27 to go and no one can hold the wheel.

Can't win 'em all I guess...

AvdB bridges across to AvV and they both sit up. They don't even try to pretend there are others in the race anymore...

AvdB allows Chantal Blaak to go up the road. AvV plays a bit with chasing then attacks with 8 to go. Group closes then sits up. Mitchellton with 2 riders. Now grace brown goes up the road with Boels's Amy Peters on the wheel

Hips above the shoulder, that's a straight red these days, as can't see any mitigating circumstances.

Chantal Vandenbroucke Blaak (I'm sure I spelt all of that wrong) wins after an attack on the flat at the top of the Kwaremont...

    Amy Peters takes 2nd for a Boels 1, 2

I think Lotte Kopecky took 3rd

JA going in with his shoulder was the first offence. Yellow card only.

Yeah I am aware of this but in CX and I don't have enough time to follow it and the build up. I know who they are but just don't really care who wins between them.

Yes you could say 'just enjoy the prodigious talent for what it is' is such a waste when you can have better ups and downs if your 'man' wins - which is a lot of the fun in following sport.

Even if JA had made it to the finish I probably would have supported him just because I know a bit more about his road history.
