Hi,
I bought some new Shimano MTB disk brakes (M315) and they were unessembled - the hoses come like in the picture. I would just like to assemble lever/hose, the lose lenght is fine. A couple of questions:
1. Shall I remove all the white "sticker" or I just make a hole (and leave the remining of the white sticker)? (the hose on the left)
2. how do remove the black thing in the middle that prevents the oil to flow (the hose on the right)

Many thanks

Download the installations instructions from the Shimano website.
  • Thanks, but nothing in instruction about my question.

I've done a few hose installs for internal cable routing and hose shortening jobs. Used new olives and inserts each time, non of which had or needed the white sticker so I would remove it fully.

Never seen a rubber plug like that before but I would carefully stick a fine needle down, slightly off centre and gouge it out, ideally in one piece.

Anything goes wrong it would be easy to cut the end off and fit an new insert if needed.
